Police in Hanoi today returned to a Greek tourist a bag containing more than US$7,000 that he had mistakenly left on a taxi on Oct. 31.
Vlassopoulos Lefteris and two other foreigners picked up the taxi of Bac A Company from the Sword Lake to Phan Boi Chau St.
After they left, driver Vu Van Kien found the bag on the back seat.
He reported to his company and the bag was handed to officers at a police station near the company’s headquarter in Nam Tu Liem District.
The officers looked into the tourist’s papers and contacted the travel company at which he booked the tour. They managed to contact him after three days.
The 69-year-old tourist, who is visiting Vietnam for the first time, said he feels safe and welcomed after what happened.
Kien was praised and awarded by his company.
