Two six-year-old boys drowned in a water-filled pit at a construction site in Hanoi last weekend, local police said.
Online newspaper Dan Tri reported that Le Quan Anh and Do Cong Vinh were found dead at the site near the Hanoi National University at around 9 a.m. Saturday.
According to the police, the boys' parents had brought them for a wedding in Thach Hoa Commune, Thach That District.
Since the adults were busy helping with the wedding, the boys went out by themselves, wandered into the construction site near the house, and fell into the pit.
After the parents noticed their children were missing, they frantically search for them and found their bodies in the pit.
The pit was around 1.6 meters deep, police said.
The site had been abandoned but there were no warning signs around it, they added.
