Hanoi police on Tuesday morning arrested a taxi driver after a dramatic chase that terrified many people on several main streets in the city. 
Nguyen Van Dung, a 31-year-old driver of Mai Linh Taxi, is now detained for resisting traffic officers.
Police said they signaled Dung to stopped his taxi, which was attempting to pick up a passenger at a wrong place on Hai Ba Trung Street, but the driver ignored the order. 
The taxi then sped up and ran away.
The traffic police team chased after it. The taxi hit several motorbikes blocking its way. 
Police finally managed to stop the taxi after a 5-kilometer chase around some of the main streets.
Some angry drivers, whose vehicles were damaged after colliding with the taxi, smashed the taxi's windshield right after it was stopped.  
A driver followed the chase, filmed it and sent his video to Thanh Nien
