Hanoi police arrested three men for the brutal daylight murder of a businessman in his car on Tuesday morning.

According to the police, Nguyen Van Thuan, 22, turned himself in at a police station; his two accomplices were arrested on late Tuesday to early Wednesday morning.

Thuan, a xe om (motorbike) driver, told police he was hired by a man he knew only as Tuan to drive to Pham Van Dong Street in search of Kieu Ngoc Thanh, 54.

The pair spotted Thanh driving on his car CRV through Hanoi.

After the pair stopped his car, Thanh rolled down his window and Tuan stabbed him three times killing him instantly.

Tuan jumped on Thuan’s motorbike and the two men quickly fled the scene.

Police said they have arrested another suspected connected to the murder.

However, the man who hired Tuan to commit the killing remains wanted by police.

The 54-year old victim was a businessman who owned a construction company in the capital city.

His relatives told Thanh Nien he borrowed a great deal of money after his company suffered significant losses.
