Two members of a family were killed and two others were wounded after a burglar allegedly broke into their house in Hanoi early Monday morning.
The incident happened at around 1 a.m., according to family members.
The burglar allegedly broke into the two-story house belonging to Nguyen Luong Chuan, 57, in Thach That District from the second floor.
He then went downstairs to search for valuables.
Nguyen Luong Chinh, Chuan’s 27-year-old son, saw him and shouted for help.
The man allegedly stabbed Chinh to death. Chuan rushed over and was also killed.
Chuan's wife and other son were injured when trying to stop the burglar. They have recovered after treatment.
A relative who lives near the house said he saw the burglar jumping over the fence to get out of the house. He dropped a hat, a coat, his shoes and a scissor while fleeing.
Chuan ran a wood processing factory inside his house. His family is said to be a well-to-do family in the neighborhood.
Police are still investigating.
