A guard at a Sacombank branch in Hanoi was found dead Sunday morning and the camera installed at the place stolen.
Senior bank officials at the branch said the murder might not be related to an attempted robbery as nothing has been lost as far as they can see.
Investigators meanwhile said more than two people might have been involved in the murder. They had observed the branch for sometime to know the habits of guards and their shifts, the investigators added.
The victim, Vu Ba Thang, a 20-year-old local, was employed by the bank in May. Thang was found with slashes over his bodies on the second floor of the bank.
Residents living nearby said they usually saw two guards sharing the same shift.
Police are investigating the case.
