Security officers at Phu Bai International Airport in central Vietnam on Tuesday found a grenade in a parcel bound for Hanoi.
Officers at the airport, which is 15 kilometers to the south of Hue, detected the grenade after screening a parcel, local media reported.
They said local postal workers brought the parcel over in the morning and it was supposed to be carried on a flight to Hanoi the same day.
Military officials have seized the small bomb.
The discovery did not affect the airport’s flight schedules.
A source from Thua Thien-Hue Post Office said the sender of the parcel is from the neighboring province of Quang Tri. It refused to provide further information.
Police are investigating the case.
