The Montgomerie Links golf course will host a charity event to raise funds for survival swimming programs for children in central Vietnam next month.
The "˜2012 Swing to Swim Charity Golf Day', hosted by Montgomerie Links and supported by the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, aims to provide swimming skills to children in the region, where more of them die from drowning than road accidents.
An expected VND500 million (US$24,000) of the funds will be raised from the second edition of the event, on March 17, and donated to local swimming programs Swim Vietnam and Swim Safe.
There will be 150 golfers vying on the 18-hole Montgomerie Links Golf Course in Quang Nam Province, which is widely considered the premeire golf course in Vietnam.
Companies and individuals are invited to help with the charity event by paying an entrance fee of VND2 million (US$96) each, or donating items that can be auctioned or raffled.
The event is also supported by The Royal Life Saving Society Australia.
