German man arrested in Hanoi for series of crimes within one night: report

He allegedly robbed a motorbike, vandalized a shop, stole a car and crashed into a taxi

 

Hanoi police have arrested a German man who allegedly committed a series of acts that “caused public disorder” early on Thursday, Tien Phong newspaper reported.
At around 3 a.m. the man reportedly attacked two locals on a motorbike to rob their bike. He drove the bike around a lake in Long Bien District before throwing it into the lake.
He then reportedly destroyed some property of an Internet shop on Bo De Street.
He then arrived in front of a house, also on the same street, and jumped into a car as the driver walked out to open the gate.

As the car’s key was still on, he drove the car to the street and crashed into a taxi. The car's head was damaged after the crash, according to the report.
Local residents and police managed to apprehend him soon later.
It is not known if the man acted under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
