French-Vietnamese NGO Poussières de Vie will organize a family-orientated day at the Saigon Zoo December 16.

It said in a press release that the 9am-4pm event -- called Kermesse -- would feature live music, dance performances, magic shows, games for all ages, delicious food, an exhibition of drawings by students, and more.

Entrance will cost 12,000VND. Food tickets for an array of tasty treats, including Vietnamese and Western foods, will be for sale to raise funds for Poussières de Vie, which has for the last 10 years helped street and severely disadvantaged children learn English and IT.

Poussières de Vie co-founder Patrick Désir said: "Last year Kermesse attracted 14,000 people, making it Ho Chi Minh City's biggest charity event, and everyone we spoke to had a great day with their family and friends.

"We've held this for four years, and every year it has gotten bigger and better, thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and attendees.

"This year is destined to be the best yet, and we're marking Poussières de Vie's 10th birthday with new surprises."

Tickets to a lucky draw, featuring more than $4000 worth of prizes, including a Honda Air Blade scooter, and other fantastic prizes, are available in the lead up to the event and on the day.
