A four-year-old boy died after falling from the ninth floor to the second floor of an apartment building in Hanoi on Saturday, reported VnExpress.
The body of Le Minh Duc was found on the second floor of apartment building No. 21 in Hoang Mai District's Phap Van-Tu Hiep Urban Area.
Tran Thi Ha, Duc's 35-year-old mother, reportedly came home after driving her daughter to school and could not find Duc in her apartment.
She searched for Duc everywhere and found his body on the second floor.
The accident may have happened around 7:30 a.m., according to police. They found a chair on the ninth floor balcony and presumed that Duc climbed the handrail, which is more than one meter high, and fell.
Neighbors said they did not hear any sound because they were asleep.
Ha said she closed the apartment's back door, which leads to the balcony, but did not lock it, before she left home.
Police are still investigating.
