Four men caught trying to traffic ethnic minority women into China

Police in the northern province of Quang Ninh have arrested four people for investigation into charges they were trafficking three girls to China.

Initial information shows that on October 2, security forces at the Mong Cai border gate caught the suspects, between 17 and 26 years old, red-handed sending three girls between 16 and 17 years old to China.

The girls, all from the ethnic Thai minority from the central province of Nghe An, were told that they would work as shop assistants in China for a monthly salary of VND4-5 million (US$191.8-239.8).

However, in fact, they planned to sell them into brothels, the suspects confessed to the border guards.

The case is being investigated further.
