The Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance agency on Tuesday said it is filing lawsuits against four businesses that owned a total of over VND5.95 billion (US$ 305,206) in social insurance.
The Saigon Post and Telecommunications Services Corporation's C.D.M.A Mobile Phone Center owed the most at VND5.15 billion, the agency said.
The other businesses are Vinashin Asia Investment - Consultant - Construction Petrochemical Joint Stock Company, An Lac Thinh Ltd. Co., and COTEC Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company.
The social insurance agency has also listed another 138 businesses which currently owe VND24.6 billion in total to inspectorates of the city's Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
Last month the agency handed over to inspectors a list of 64 companies with social insurance debts mounting to VND12 billion.
Following the latter's intervention, 24 have paid up their dues in full, while others have made part payments, according to news website Phap Luat.
