Police in the southern province of Ba Ria Vung Tau have arrested four people on suspicion of causing four explosions in the public last week, a source told Thanh Nien on Sunday.

Initial investigations showed that from 9 p.m. to more than 11 p.m. Friday, Nguyen Van Quy, 24, Ho Tan An, 21, Van Tan Phuoc, 22, and Bui Van Kiet, 22 caused mine explosions near local bus station, supermarket and  a roundabout in Ba Ria Town.

The explosions, however, didn't cause casualties and damages to properties.

Police also confiscated many explosive materials and weapons at Phuoc's house, according to the source.

Phuoc said they also made explosions on October 16-17 in Ba Ria "out of curiosity."

The case is now under investigation.
