Police in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong and inspectors from the Ministry of Public Security arrested two Malaysian men and a Vietnamese woman Thursday for allegedly trafficking 16 women to Malaysia.
Luu Thi Ngoc Hien, 41, Fair Bin Llah, 41, and AS Lawi, 23, are accused of selling Vietnamese women into forced prostitution since last July.
They sold the victims, who they found in the countryside of various provinces in the Mekong Delta and Dak Nong, to Nguyen Thi Bich Chi, 41.
Chi is Llah's Vietnamese wife who now lives in Malaysia, police said.
For every woman they sold, the trio earned 3,800 ringgit (US$1,244), 50 percent of which was paid to Hien as her brokerage fee, they said.
Police are investigating.
