Two unidentified people on a motorbike allegedly shot a group of four Vietnamese-Canadian citizens, injuring one of them, in downtown Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday night.
According to the source, the group were walking along Ton That Thiep Street, District 1, when two men on a motorbike approached them.
The person who was riding pillion then took out a gun and allegedly shot at the Nguyen Ly Quoc, Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper reported Friday.
Online newspaper Dan Tri quoted witnesses as saying that they heard “one big gunshot,” and the shooters quickly fled the scene.
Quoc was rushed to Cho Ray Hospital, where doctors performed a surgery to treat his injured right leg.
Quoc was quoted by Tuoi Tre as saying that he and his friends have come back to Vietnam for vacation just for several days and have not been in conflict with anyone.
