Two foreign tourists died when diving at a beach in the coastal central province of Binh Thuan Monday (December 20), according to local police.
Dinh Kim Lap, chief of Tuy Phong District's police, said three foreign tourists who stayed at resorts in Phan Thiet Town came to dive at the beach in Vinh Tan Commune that day.
Due to big waves and winds plus unfamiliarity with the sea, two of them died of suffocation, while the other was rescued and was currently in critical condition.
Police later identified the two dead victims as Philippe Bousseau, a 47-year-old Frenchman, and Alexander A Nikolav, a 42-year-old Russian. The survivor is a Russian named Pavel.
