Police in the southern province of Tay Ninh have launched a probe against a Belizian man accused of smuggling cocaine from Cambodia into Vietnam.
Nicholas Starr, 37, was arrested at around 8 p.m. on June 5 when he was waiting for a bus in Ben Cau District.
Police seized about 25 grams of cocaine, two cell phones, two bank cards and other relevant documents.
At the police station, Starr said that he was working in Phnom Penh.
On June 4, an American man, who called himself Solo, hired him to smuggle the drug into Vietnam.
Starr was told to deliver the drug to a person in Ho Chi Minh City for a fee of US$600. He was paid $400 and promised to have the rest after the delivery.
Police are investigating the case.
