A first grader was hit hard and badly bruised by his teacher because the child refused to write down her lesson as instructed.
The incident, reported Wednesday, took place in the Mekong Delta's An Giang Province.
The staff of a local medical station on Wednesday told local news website VietNamNet that they'd just treated Neang Em Ni, who were sent in with injuries caused by something solid.
Ni's family said the child came home on December 6 with the right ear oozing blood and his buttocks badly bruised.
It was found that Ni had refused to write down a lesson at class and his teacher Cao Thi Lan had caned him.
The family has complained about the teacher to Tan Loi A Primary School as she has beaten Ni earlier and injured him in September. The school has transferred Lan to a different class.
In early November, female teacher Pham Thi Hoan from a primary school in the northern province of Phu Tho asked the class leader to use a metal ruler to beat the neck of student Nguyen Anh Phuong after being unhappy about the child's uniform.
Phuong was sent to hospital ten days later as the injuries didn't heal.
In May, female teacher Nguyen Thi Thuy from the central province of Ha Tinh beat her first grade student Nguyen Thi Uyen Nhu and caused her head to bleed.
