An unusual accident caused by a car plowing through a crowd in front of Ho Chi Minh City's airport has claimed its first death as one of the worst injured victims died on Friday, after suffering from brain bleeding.
Ngo Van Ngach, 50, was rushed to hospital on Tuesday night after the Audi, which was picking up a famous pop singer, ran straight into him and 10 others.
Ngach and some family members were waiting for a relative arriving from the US.
Doctors said several bones in his legs were broken and he also suffered a cerebral hemorrhage.
Ngach passed away at 3:30 pm on Friday.
Driver of the Audi Nguyen Duy Tan, 25, said he found the car sliding when he was parking it in a pick-up lane. He said he attempted to stamp on the brake, but mistakenly used the accelerator.
Tan was first suspected of being drunk, but police has rejected this, news website VnExpress reported.
