Fire consumed the construction site of a night club in the central city of Da Nang on Friday; no casualties were reported.
The fire started in the basement of the New Phuong Dong Hotel Bar & Karaoke on Dong Da Street around midnight and spread to the entire construction site.
Thick smoke filled the air, provoking chaos among nearby residents.
No casualties were reported as no employees were present at the time of the fire, police said.
Ten firefighting trucks with dozens of firemen were sent to the scene to extinguish the fire, which took two hours to put out.
Police said sparks from a welding machine left on a higher floor may have fallen into the basement onto air bubble packs, which caught fire.
The club has been under construction for several months and had nearly been completed before Friday's blaze.
