Three workers at a construction site in Ho Chi Minh City died Tuesday after concrete blocks fell on them. They were natives of Mekong Delta provinces.
Pham Van Hoang, 42, and Nguyen Hong Viet, 23, were killed instantly, while Nguyen Chi Cong, 21, died on the way to hospital.
The accident happened at the construction site of Yuki Company at the Tan Thuan Export and Processing Zone in District 7.
According to eyewitnesses, the workers were building the foundation of the building when the concrete blocks piled up near a machine fell. The blocks weighed between four to five tons each.
Some workers managed to get away but the three casualties were not quick enough.
Yuki Vietnam, Ltd., an export firm, the project investor, had appointed the local Chanh Phuc Commerce and Building Joint Stock Company to carry out the construction of the company.
