At least seven people died when a big fire broke out at a mattress manufacturing factory in the southern province of Binh Duong on Thursday morning.

Witnesses in Thuan Giao Commune said they heard a big explosion at around 3 a.m. at the Sieu Vinh Loi Company's factory and a fire broke out soon after.

Many firefighters were mobilized but the fire wasn't extinguished until around 6 a.m.

Initial reports say at least seven people, including company director Nguyen Thi Kieu and her five-month old son, perished in the fire. All the victims were so badly burnt they weren't identified until later the same day, officials said.
