Ho Chi Minh City police arrested two robbers just hours after the victim wrote their scooter's license number on her facebook page.

The robbery happened in the evening on October 21 when Chung Thi Thanh Hang, 21, was driving with her friend on a motorbike in District 8's Pham Hung Street.

Two men on a Honda SH scooter snatched her bag with three cell phones, VND1.5 million and her identity papers and escaped.

Hang, a student of Van Lang University, reported the robbery on her facebook page, including the license number of the robbers' bike.

The city's investigators accidentally read her page and recognized the license plate as belonging to some suspects that they were investigating.

According to VnExpress, the investigators informed patrolling plainclothes police officers who found the scooter on District 6's Hau Giang Street, just seven hours after Hang's facebook page was read.

The police officers arrested the duo on a section of the nearby Lo Gom Street.

Bui Ngoc Thanh, 21, and Nguyen Hoang Tho, 23, confessed to the crime, saying they had sold the robbed property to buy drugs, the police said.

They are investigating the case further.
