Explosion destroys Vietnam official's car, no one injured

An explosion destroyed the car of a high-ranking official in the northern province of Dien Bien Tuesday, but no casualties were reported.

Local police said the blast happened in front of the house of Nguyen Viet Hung, vice director of the provincial Department of Home Affairs at around 5 a.m.

The cause is being investigated

On January 7 an explosion damaged the first floor of the house of Nguyen Nhu Tuan, director of the northern province of Thai Nguyen's Police Department. However, no one was injured.

Police suspected that explosion which could have been caused by bomb was placed by someone who wanted to take revenge on Tuan, who had taken tough measures to crackdown on crimes and gangsters.
