A group of the three European tourists say they were robbed by a group of six Vietnamese on a Hanoi street early Thursday morning.
A Moud, a French national, and Swiss nationals Maic Nicolas and Dimitri Huwyler, told the police that day that they were walking on Tran Quang Khai Street at around 2 a.m. when six young men on three motorbikes showed up.
The men followed the tourists and forced them to go to a nearby ATM, according to the tourists.
The Europeans said the Vietnamese then forced the group of travelers to withdraw VND60 million (US$2,880).
The Vietnamese took the money and two mobile phones from the tourists and left, according to the travelers.
Hoan Kiem District police said they would investigate the case.
