Police in Ha Tinh Province have arrested a 22-year-old drug user for allegedly killing a man who took him to hospital after a traffic accident.
Tran Tien Xuan was high on drugs when he crashed his motorbike near his house in the province’s Huong Son District at around 9 p.m. on July 22, according to the district police.
A neighbour, Le Cong Binh, 38, and some passers-by took him to the Tay Son Town Hospital.
But there Xuan refused treatment and damaged things, and only allowed doctors to treat his injuries after being persuaded by his family.
However, he suddenly ran out and grabbed a knife from a nearby eatery before returning to stab Binh.
Binh was killed on the spot, and Xuan fled.
More than 50 police officers were mobilized to search for Xuan.
The suspect was arrested about an hour later at a gas station where he was hiding and still holding the knife.
The police are investigating.
