One more man who drank adulterated rice wine at a party in Vietnam's southern province of Dong Nai last week died in hospital Monday, becoming the third victim.
Le Tong Nhi Hung, 43, of Bien Hoa city was rushed to hospital last Friday morning after he suffered headache and dizziness and fell into a coma.
Doctors at the Dong Nai General Hospital said he had a high acid content in his blood and put him on dialysis.
But he died after three days of treatment.
Last Thursday (May 31), Hung and three other men -- Dao Van Ut, 48, Hoang Son Hai, 55, and Truong Thien Minh, 43 -- bought rice wine from a grocery to party.
Later, after they returned home, they had breathing difficulties and vomited, and were taken to hospital.
Ut and Hai died Saturday. Minh remains in a coma.
Doctors blamed the three men's death on excessive methanol content in the hooch, and the police are trying to trace its origin.
