Police said they are investigating the motive in a knife attack that left three people injured, including the alleged attacker, at a commune healthcare unit in northern Vietnam Thursday.
Le Huu Doai, a doctor at the healthcare facility in Nghia Son Commune, Nghe An Province, allegedly hacked two nurses with a knife before attempting to commit suicide by banging his head against a house column and biting his tongue off.
All the three are in stable condition now, doctors at Northwestern Nghe An General Hospital said.
The victims, identified as Nguyen Thi Quynh Nga and Le Thi Dien, suffered knife cuts through several bones in their hands and arms, the doctors said.
Nguyen Huu Quy, chairman of the commune's administrative committee, said Doai and the two nurses had had some "conflict", which he did not elaborate.
