A barge in the Mekong Delta lost control and pushed ten riverside houses into the water on Tuesday.
The barge, which was more than 80 meters long, was sailing along the Hau River in An Giang Province when it crashed into the riverbank.
No casualities have been reported but the houses lining the bank were considerably damaged.
Eyewitnesses said the barge tried to flee the scene after the collision and local police had to chase after it.
Luong Van Hoc, the barge driver and owner, said he lost control when the engine suddenly cut out.
An investigation is underway.
