A Danish-Vietnamese woman was found in Ho Chi Minh City Thursday, three days after she reportedly went missing in Da Nang.
It is still unclear why and how Nguyen Kim Hue, 34, managed to travel the 960 km from Da Nang to the southern metro.
In HCMC some people found her “walking aimlessly like a person with a mental problem” in Thu Duc District and took her to a nearby police station.
The police later contacted Hue’s relatives after coming to know about her from media reports.
Earlier Hue and her husband had visited her relatives in Da Nang and attended the wedding of her younger sister.
She has not visited Vietnam for several years.
The couple were scheduled to return to Denmark on July 19.
On July 18, she and three younger siblings went to Con Market in the central city when she suddenly went missing.
They said her cell phone rang several times before it was switched off.
“We are flying to HCMC; we can’t say anything until we get there,” an unnamed relative of Hue told the media.
