Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department said Sunday they have confiscated several guns and bullets shipped illegally from the United States to Vietnam by air.

In the first case, customs officers detected a pistol yet to be assembled made by Heckler&Koch USA.

Another consignment contained a Beretta PX4 Storm pistol and two cartridge belts with 24 bullets hidden in a DVD player.

There were three plastic pistols, a metal air pistol, a metal pistol and a bullet box in the third consignment.

The fourth package contained 12 bullets.

The consignments were addressed to different individuals in the city via express delivery service, the customs department said.

All the confiscated weapons have been handed over to local police for investigating.
