Thanh Hoa police have arrested a man accused of killing a police official who was trying to stop him from causing nuisance at his home on March 18.
The arrestee is Mai Van Son of Xuan Lam Commune in the northern province of Thanh Hoa, who was alleged of killing the communal vice chief police officer Tran Manh Tung, 27.
According to Thanh Hoa Police Department spokesman Le Trung Hieu, Son went out to drink before going home and destroying furniture at around 8:30 p.m.
His relatives and neighbors reported to the local police.
Tung and two police officers arrived at the site and recommended Son to stop causing the nuisance.
Son suddenly took a sharp knife under the table and stabbed Tung in his neck.
The man also attempted to attack the other two officers before being arrested.
Tung was rushed to the hospital but he succumbed to blood loss midway.
