Civil servants to be fired after caught gambling on duty

Seven civil servants in the resort town of Vung Tau will be fired after they were caught gambling during duty hours.
A video, recorded by a Thanh Nien reporter thanks to our readers' tips, caught the civil servants, who work for the Urban Order Management (UOM) Team of Ward 10, Vung Tau, playing cards for in a coffee shop.
They started playing at 9, and was still playing when the reporter left an hour later.
Ward 10 Chairman Nguyen Van Tai confirmed that the seven gamblers were "the entire UOM team."
The Party Committee of Vung Tau later demanded that the gambling civil servants be dismissed for tarnishing the image of civil servants.
It also censured leaders of Ward 10 for "ineffective personnel management."
