A reporter in Ho Chi Minh City was attacked Saturday when taking photos of workers leaving the factory in front of his home.

Ho Van Ut, 34, said the people who attacked him were playing cards in a café across the street and must have thought that he was photographing them.

Tran Thi Van Anh, 32, hit Ut on the head with a brick for "taking photos of the café without permission," Anh told the police.

Ut was rushed to hospital with head injuries.

He works for Binh Duong Newspaper.
