Inspectors from the Ministry of Information and Communications have suggested a US$3,600 fine be levied on a Ho Chi Minh City firm for violating online game laws.

Asiasoft has not been allowed to provide FOH Online and Thien Tu (God's son) Online, and it has upgraded and modified several games without informing the ministry, the inspectors found.

The company website introduces a foreign game with horror images named Requiem Online that is not officially allowed in Vietnam.

It also doesn't provide enough information on the rules of the games and regulations on online game management, as required.

The inspectors have asked the ministry to add more regulations concerning the definition of virtual accounts and the trading of items online.

The ministry should also specify for how long online game providers in Vietnam have to store related data, the inspectors said.
