Ho Chi Minh City police arrested a Chinese man, Wednesday, for allegedly trading in fake Viagra, banned sex toys and other aphrodisiacs.
Yan Jian Feng, 45, was nabbed along with a Chinese woman, whose Vietnamese name is Lu Thuc Hy, 39, at An Suong Bus Station.
The police began following the couple after they drove up the station on a motorbike carrying a large sack.
After searching the sack and police found 1,700 tablets of aphrodisiacs, including fake Viagra, and a number of sex toys.
They then searched a rented house in Hoc Mon District, where the couple lived, and seized around 20 large boxes of aphrodisiacs and sex toys.
Yan admitted he bought the aphrodisiacs and sex toys in China, early this year, and hired people to transport the products into Vietnam. He's managed to sell them at a three-fold markup.
HCMC police ambushed the pair after they found evidence of a gang selling aphrodisiacs to local shops two months ago. They established that Yan was the mastermind behind the operation.
The couple faces charges of “illegally trading and storing banned products.”
