Temperature in Ho Chi Minh City is forecast to fall to 18-20 degrees Celsius on Sunday and Monday under the influence of a cold spell hitting northern Vietnam.
Other southern provinces will also enjoy cooler weather, with temperatures ranging from 17 to 22 degrees Celsius, according to the Southern Hydrometeorological Center.
The cool weather will last only two days, the center said, adding that it will be warm as usual later.
Ho Chi Minh City saw the temperature fall to 18 degrees Celsius in January last year, the lowest since 2008. Temperatures in this tropical city usually hover around 30 degrees Celsius most of the time.
