The head of a district branch of the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) was found dead early on Friday morning at his home in the southern province of Ca Mau, local police said.
Tran Khac Tan, 52, allegedly hanged himself before his family members discovered his body at around 1 am on Friday.
Tan has served as the head of the bank's Phu Tan district branch for years.
Police said they found the key and a series of codes to the bank’s safe on his person.
Tan’s junior colleagues told authorities that he was a good boss, adding that his death has shocked his entire staff.
The CEO of the provincial Agribank branch, Ly Nam Hai, told news website VnExpress that Tan’s branch was considered an excellent unit.
