A landslide buried three houses and injured a child in Phu Yen Province Thursday.
Truong Van Cong, 14, sustained an injury to the head when a piece of the wall fell during the landslide, local news website VnExpress reported.
Three houses, located on Nhan mountain, were hit by the landslide which authorities say was triggered by recent heavy rains.
Le Thi Lac, one house owner, said, "We were having lunch, when suddenly we felt the mountain moving. Then soil and rock fell just in seconds."
Authorities in the south central province said landslides on Nhan mountain have been forecast for several years but the province did not have enough funds to relocate residents in the area.
People from the three houses have been evacuated but there are still ten other families living nearby.
