Authorities in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang shot dead a buffalo which injured six people after running amok on the street on Sunday, the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper reported.
At around 8:30 a.m., the buffalo ran from Chau Thanh District to Long Xuyen City, causing "disorder" on the street.
The animal butted five people when it reached at a bridge in Binh Duc Ward.
It continued to run and smashed butted another person on the street in Binh Khanh Ward.
According to eyewitnesses, the buffalo seemed to get "more hysterical" when the weather got hotter.
It was shot dead by local authorities half an hour later.
The six people were hospitalized with treat minor injuries. Three of them were discharged from the hospital on Sunday afternoon.
On May 15, a buffalo killed a woman and injured four other people after escaping from its pen in a rural village in the central province of Quang Nam.
Five days earlier, a buffalo which is said to have escaped from a slaughterhouse attacked more than 10 people as it ran amok for almost four hours in Thua Thien-Hue Province.
