Police in Vietnam's Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu Sunday arrested a woman for allegedly stabbing her father-in-law to death after he scolder her for drinking.
According to police in Chau Hung town, Quach Hoai Thuong, 24, went out to drink with her friends that day.
At around 6 p.m. she returned to her husband's house, where she lives with his extended family.
Her husband's grandmother upbraided her saying women should not drink.
Thuong began to argue, and her father-in-law Tran Van Kip, 45, scolded her for that.
She yelled at Kip and the two began to fight, but family members intervened and stopped them.
The two went to bed, but after a while Kip began to grumble about her.
An enraged Thuong grabbed a knife and stabbed him twice in the chest.
He was rushed to hospital but died soon afterwards.
The police arrested Thuong that night.
