Seventy people donated blood to Vietnamese people at the donation event held at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia on Sunday, June 19.

The donors include members of the Indonesia community in HCMC and adjacent provinces, as well as students of the city-based Hong Bang University and University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Nearly 80 units of blood (one unit is approximately 250ml) have been given to HCMC Red Cross Association through the donation, which was also in honor of the 66th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence Day.

This is the fourth humanitarian activity held by the Indonesian Consulate General and it aims to enhance the solidarity between Vietnam and Indonesia.

The blood donation at Indonesian Consulate also takes place each quarter in HCMC.

The Consulate has organized many cultural, social and economic events this year including Indonesia Day Festival, Global Village event, Indonesian Cultural Performance in Can Tho City and Golden Rice Festival 2011 in Soc Trang Province.
