Bike thief stabs chasing cop in central Vietnam

Two motorbike thieves in Nghe An Province were arrested on Sunday after one of them stabbed a police officers who was chasing them.
A group of policemen, including Lieutenant Nguyen Ngoc Hao, were patrolling early Sunday when they saw the thieves trying to break the lock of a motorbike parked on the sidewalk.
When the thieves, later identified as Le Quoc Tuan and Le Hong Son, tried to flee the scene, the officers gave chase for more than a kilometer before they caught up with them.
Lt. Hao, 26, said when he was about five meters from the thieves, one of them suddenly ran back and stabbed him with a lock-picking tool.
The attacker, 26-year-old Tuan, was arrested immediately while Lt. Hao was rushed to Nghe An Hospital. 
Police caught Tuan's 17-year-old accomplice later in the afternoon. Son had a bayonet with him when he was arrested, police said.
Doctors said the stabbing injured Hao’s lungs, but his condition is stable.
