Ten people, including eight students and two teachers at a high school in the southern province of Tay Ninh were hospitalized after a bunch of around 100 balloons exploded on April 24.
The ten victims, who suffered burns on their faces and hands, are in stable condition following treatment.
Following a National standard school award ceremony at the Suoi Day High School in Tan Chau district, students gathered around a bunch of more than 100 heart-shaped balloons.
Vu Quoc Khanh, a teacher at the school, was helping to divide the balloons so the students could take them home when they suddenly exploded.
The accident left burns on Khanh, eight sixth grade students and another teacher standing nearby.
Local leaders have visited the hospitalized victims and presented each with VND 2 million (US$100).
In January, a bunch of 30 balloons, brought home from a wedding ceremony in Hanoi, exploded sending 4 family members to the hospital with burns on their faces, necks, ears and hands.
