An Australian man fell off the second floor of the international terminal at Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday morning.
According to Thanh Nien sources, the man, 38, was among passengers queueing up to board a flight to Bangkok then he suddenly fell to the ground, together with his backpack.
He landed on a mini-garden on the ground floor, according to the report.
The man appeared conscious and was rushed to Cho Ray Hospital soon afterwards with minor injuries.
A Vietnam News report said he might have climbed over the handrail.
Police temporarily blocked part of the international terminal for investigation.

UPDATE: An official statement from the airport said the Australian man was at a waiting area on the second floor of the international terminal.

He was there more than eight hours before his flight to Bangkok, scheduled at 6:45 p.m.

The statement also cited the man as saying that he jumped because he was troubled by some family issue.
He is recovering.
