The 19-year-old Vietnamese student who fell victim to a brutal assault in Melbourne last December has recovered and left the hospital, according to a release issued by the Australian Embassy in Hanoi Friday.
Vu Ngoc Minh will continue his recovery at a rehabilitation clinic in Melbourne, the statement said.
"I have been very pleased with the support provided by his education institution, the Melbourne Institute of Business and Technology," said Australian Ambassador HE Mr Allaster Cox. "As we start a new year, I look forward to hearing of Minh's continued recovery and the resumption of his studies."
Minh, a student at Deakin University's Melbourne Institute of Business and Technology, was beaten up by a group of youngsters in Melbourne on December 26. The attack left him in a critical condition with brain injuries.
Nguoi Lao Dong (Laborer) newspaper reported on Saturday that Australian police are still investigating the case.
