Nha Trang's Foreign Affairs Department announced it has notified the Russian Consulates in Ho Chi Minh City about the death of a Russian man at a hotel in the beach town on Monday afternoon.

Municipal authorities are investigating the death of Alexandr Tolstik who had spent several days in a room on the 5th floor of the Golden Beach Hotel.

After knocking on Tolstik’s door and receiving no reply a hotel maid entered the room and found Tolstik lying face down on a bed.

The cause of death for the 41-year old tourist has yet to be released.

Over three months ago, a Russian expert employed at a shipbuilding yard in Ho Chi Minh City was found dead in a District 3 hotel room.

Smirnove Vitalii, 35, was found lying face down on his bed on April 20 by his 51-year old Russian friend who had shared the hotel room with him for three weeks.

Police believe a stroke may have caused his death.
