At least ten domestic flights from Ho Chi Minh City were delayed Thursday as the southern hub's Tan Son Nhat Airport was submerged in floods during a heavy rain, a local news website reported.
The half-hour rain flooded areas around the international airport's domestic terminal around noon, prompting management to cut power to prevent electrical leakages, according to the VnExpress .
The power cut stopped passengers from checking in, the report said, adding that thousands of passengers were affected by the incident.
At around 2.30 p.m. the domestic terminal resumed operations, VnExpress said.
The station once caught fire in October, 2008 due to electrical leakage.
