The police hit the Hoang Gia (Royal) casino in Quang Ninh province’s Ha Long town early Sunday, catching 25 Vietnamese gamblers in the act.
They confiscated 2,263 chips worth up to US$10,000, some $164,000, two cars, and three CPUs storing data pertaining to the casino operation.
The police warned that they would consider pressing charges against several employees of the casino who had let the Vietnamese gamblers in under their noses.
Gambling is illegal in Vietnam, except for several casinos where only foreigners are allowed to bet.
